Neavus

Neavus are an up and coming Christchurch based four piece that are going to create a storm in the thriving New Zealand music scene.
Neavus was started by high school mates Alex Newfield and Tim Ruth who both p;ayed the guitar and had a shared dream of rock stardom. Being multi-talented Tim eventually switched to the drums after an extensive search for a suitable drummer turned up fruitless and they went on to compete in several school aged band competitions such as the Coke smoke free rock quest and College Rock Charts.
They eventually teamed up with two other mates - Simon Matthews on vocals and a bass player called Chris Humphreys.
They've written their own songs but their song 'Next to Me', was voted by public on the internet as the favourite song in the inaugral college rock charts. They just keep writing more and more songs.
The best way to describe Neavus' sound is that it's hard rock, but each member has their own influences that range from hip-hop and 90's grunge to jazz and metal. All these infuences help to contribute to the unique music that neavus as a group create
